    First Round Interview: Andy Ogletree

Q: Great start for you, 2-under 69, your first event as a professional. Have a little jitters out there today?

ANDY OGLETREE: No, definitely not. I was pretty focused. It's hard to have jitters when you've got 20-mile per hour wind coming off the left shoulder on the first tee shot. I think the wind and kind of how hard it was playing really kept me engaged all day and was able to get around pretty nicely.

Q: The golf course is pretty soft and the wind, was that a big factor in why you think scores not really low today?

ANDY OGLETREE: Yeah. I mean, obviously there's scoring opportunities out there, the par 5s are very gettable, greens are soft and they're pretty good. We're obviously playing it up in the fairways, so if you can hit a lot of fairways, you can definitely take advantage of a few holes and make some birdies, but if you get out of position, it will punish you. I felt like the golf course set up perfect and, you know, if you played well, it rewarded you.

Q: You look back to a month ago, going into the Masters you had said you hadn't made your final decision about exactly what you were going to do until afterwards. Was it easy for you to make the decision to turn pro after the way you played at Augusta, being the low amateur?

ANDY OGLETREE: Yeah, I mean, I had planned on turning pro either way, but I couldn't really say that going into the Masters because anything could have happened. Yeah, it feels -- it was definitely a weight off my shoulders after playing well at the Masters, proving that I could do it at the biggest stage, so it definitely has given me a lot of confidence going forward and kind of rolling into this week with a lot of confidence and playing well.

Q: Is there any part of the golf course out there today that players really have to be wary of that really was tough out there?

ANDY OGLETREE: I think 1 and 2 are the hardest holes today into the wind. Both of those holes are tough driving holes. Normally they're 3-woods, but today you're having to hit driver and I think I hit 6-iron into 1 and 6-iron into 2. That's a little different than we played in the practice round. Obviously there's holes like 15 and 16 that are playing tough today, too. When we got on 15 it was blowing so hard, you had to start it like over the ocean and that's hard to do. Yeah, there's definitely some tough holes, but there's also some gettable holes.
