HALEY PETERSON: We would like to welcome Emiliano Grillo to the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

Welcome. You're making, I believe, your eighth consecutive start here. Just want to open up with some comments about why this tournament and this place is specifically so special.

EMILIANO GRILLO: Well, first, I think it's a place where I usually play good. I have, I think, three top-10s, so it's definitely a place that I look forward. It's one of those places that I put first on my calendar. You know, it's in Mexico, so, you know, it's a place where we speak the same language, people are super nice, it's very friendly and makes you welcome every time that you come here. It's one of those places that I really enjoy coming back.

HALEY PETERSON: Can you expand more about how it kind of feels more like a home away from home tournament, about the support from the fans and the community especially coming out to this tournament?

EMILIANO GRILLO: No, again, when you have people that's friendly to you and makes you welcome, it's one of those places that you always want to come back. It's kind of hard to say it's a home away from home, the cultures are different, but the people make it special.

HALEY PETERSON: And talk about this course and how it suits your game.

EMILIANO GRILLO: Well, I mean, I think I've had a good run until last year with a missed cut and a couple mistakes on the back nine on Friday that took me out of the tournament, but I usually really like it here. Like we said before, I had some really good results in the past and then it's a golf course that suits my game. It's nice that you can hit good shots and keep it in play and just keeping the ball in play this week, it's probably the most important thing. It's not a place where you can just grab a driver and just send it out there, it's a place that you have to keep the ball in play.

HALEY PETERSON: And conditions, especially rainy but looking at rain tomorrow, but what kind of game plan with the course playing more wet?

EMILIANO GRILLO: Well, I mean, it will be -- it will be softer, I'd say. The fairways, they're not really big out here and with the soft conditions it makes it to play much, much wider. You can attack more pins and kind of hit longer clubs closer to the hole and not have to think about roll or bounces or stuff like that. It's easier, you just almost play aim golf.

HALEY PETERSON: And already five starts this season with a pair of top-10s. How's your 1 game feeling entering the week?

EMILIANO GRILLO: It's been great, I think it's the best out of the year in seven or eight years out here. It's nice to get to a good start so you can get the momentum going into basically next year. I wish that the holidays weren't too long so I can keep the momentum going into more tournaments, but still have two tournaments, this week and next week, so add more points into the year.
